I am one of the many educators who has served in public education on an emergency credential but can no longer serve, due to requirements such as the TPA and CSET tests. I graduated from an elite institution with a graduate degree in education and still struggled to overcome testing requirements. These hurdles to education are negatively impacting many teachers who actually are qualified to teach and the many have taught in previous years. I respectfully suggest getting rid of (or minimizing) such testing requirements so that great (and qualified) teachers can assist in addressing the teacher shortage.
